70 Priory Vale blood donors needed for potential new service at Orchid Vale School 

As part of the continued drive to extend the excellent facilities that Orchid Vale School can offer to the local Priory Vale community the Governors of the school are hoping to secure the school as a venue for regular NHS blood donating sessions.

With no current facilities available for donors in North Swindon it is felt that Orchid Vale School will make an ideal venue for local residents.

So far nearly 30 local residents have expressed an interest but the Governors need at least another 40 to prove to the NHS that they have enough volunteers to make the sessions viable.

If you currently give blood at another location and would be keen to donate somewhere closer to your home or if you have never given blood but would like to, please register your interest by email at orchidvaleblood@gmx.com please include your name, address and daytime telephone number.

Orchid Vale Community Governor James Trudgian is one person that has already signed up – “I have given blood more than 10 times but I often miss the donor sessions that are in South Swindon, hopefully if we can secure the support of at least 70 local residents we can have a blood donating venue right here in Haydon End, with ample parking and easy access by bike/foot it really is a great venue.

Once 70 people have registered an interest the NHS will then review the facilities at the school and hopefully add it as a venue to their calendar.
